Since he is affiliated with iThemes and WebDesign, I do not think he should be squatting on the domains. I know he uses wpzoo for some of his tutorials – as I just went to it and it has changed dramatically from his last tutorial – plus the info is gone – so I think it is a really fluid site.

My point is that your point was wrong. You suggested people stop talking about themselves so they’ll have better blogs that are more interesting to people. This is only true if people don’t read blog because they’re interested in the bloggers. And this is false, therefore, not talking about yourself won’t make people any more interested in your blog.

No where in the post did I say you had to read those blog, heck I don’t read anything that doesn’t interest me, so I fail to see your point. You are right though that some readers do like the personal blogs, I being one of those people, and for that very reason I have a personal blog.

So I would suggest if you don’t give a hoot about a topical blog, just don’t read it. I think it is as simple as that, is it not?

Depends why you’re blogging. Not everyone blogs for the purpose of disseminating their opinion to as many people as possible. Maybe some people blog because they want to share the details of their daily life with people who care about the details of their daily life. And maybe there are people who care about the details of other people’s daily lives and want to read blog posts about the kids, the dog, and really good chocolate cake recipes.

Blogs about being the master of a topic have the disadvantages of a) often being extremely pompous, b) having no credibility, and c) chances are I don’t give a hoot about their topic. Blogs about the family and kids are interesting to me because they’re none of the above.
