Your Daily Workflow and Social Networks

I guess I was a little unclear as to where I was going with this thought, so let me straighten it out. Something I’m often thinking about is how a business or single person could incorporate Social Networks into their day-to-day routines. It is not something that can easily be done. Especially if you’ve had the same routine for a long time.

Some companies take an easy road and just hire employees whose job it is to use these tools, other even get their communications and marketing team to use them. That is fine and dandy, but is that really the way to use these tools, or is it just the easy way. I’m not saying this is the wrong way, but I do think your Social Media Presence should be handled by someone who knows and understands your company. The best advice I can give to a company wanting to start out in Social Media, is try it for yourself. Get out there, start talking about your business and *listening* to what other are saying.

Getting back to the topic of my ramble, which may relate more to a single person better. Start wedging in 5 minutes here and there where you focus on talking and engaging with those in your community. Look to see what others are saying and join in. If you start adding this couple of minutes into your day-to-day routine you will soon see how easy (possibly addicting) using Social Media is. You may even start to see how those people you connect with might actually help with your productivity throughout the day.

Just a thought.
